Dr. David Grand is a modern day “Renaissance Man” intimately involved in science, art, athletics and humanitarian activities. He is known internationally in the fields of psychotherapy (as a practitioner, theorist, writer and lecturer on EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), creativity (as an acting coach developing The Grand System, screenwriter and healer of stage fright), sports (as a peak performance expert) and humanitarianism (as an organizer of pro bono EMDR trainings of trauma therapists in Northern Ireland, Israel, and Inner Cities in the U.S.).

He maintains a private performance enhancement and psychotherapy practice in Manhattan and Long Island, New York. He also teaches scene-work at the New Actor's Workshop. Dr. Grand privately coaches actors in stage, film, and TV work. During 2000, he has presented showcases of The Grand System acting technique in Los Angeles, Miami and New York.

Dr. Grand has presented seminars at the 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2000 EMDR International Conferences, and in 2000 led a week-long workshop on "EMDR and Performance and Creativity Enhancement" at Cape Cod. During 1999 he presented at an International Trauma Conference in Jerusalem and lectured in London and Amsterdam on "Advanced EMDR Technique and Performance Enhancement."

Dr. Grand has been featured on NBC Extra, on radio, as well as in the New York Times, the Washington Post, and Newsday. Dr. Grand is the developer and producer of the ground-breaking technology of BioLateral™ Sound Recordings used by thousands of EMDR therapists to facilitate healing through the use of soothing bilateral music and sound. He has also been part of an MRI research team studying EMDR’s effects on on brain function.

Committed to the worldwide use of EMDR as a tool to ease human suffering, Dr. Grand is the former chairman of the EMDR-Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP). In that role, Dr. Grand coordinated pro bono trainings to therapists in Northern Ireland and coordinated the HAP Inner Cities Trainings in Long Island and Brooklyn, N.Y.

Dr. Grand holds a doctorate in Human Development from the International University and has a Certificate in Psychoanalysis from SPSR. He is trained as an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant. He has been part of the clinical staff of the Neurology and Pain Management of Department of the ProHealth Medical Center in New York.
